En la mitologia egípcia Geb és el déu de la terra, fill de Tefnut i Shu, germà de Nut de qui n'és marit i amb qui va engendrar Isis, Osiris, Horus, Seth i Nephthys. Amb Renenutet era el pare de Nehebkau. Va engarjolar les ànimes mortes d'homes i dones malvats, prohibint-los l'entrada al paradís. Estava associat a l'oca i als colors negre i verd. Style and Influences

Yourcodenameis:milo's style draws influence from earlier post-hardcore bands, and especially the likes of Fugazi and At the Drive-In. Themes such as space/sci-fi dominate and production features like track naming and album art are quirky and provocative. The legacy post-hardcore influences run deep, with Cedric Bixler-Zavala-like vocals (At the Drive-In era), complex, screaming, effects-peppered guitar lines and the omniprescent driving bass line making for a pure post-hardcore experience the likes of which have never been seen outside of the USA. Codename show the ability to switch between spacey, screaming post-punk-sci-fi ('I Am Connecting Flight', 'Titan Grip') to a slightly softer, more melodic, but equally brilliant style ('17', 'Rapt. Dept.'), though it is the former for which the British music press have recognised the band. While effects are used heavily, as with any post-hardcore band, over-production is not evident and a delightfully raw sound is achieved on both albums.

Live Performances

USA Live performances by the band are probably best described as 'loud'. While on-stage performance is certainly not as wild as that of At the Drive-In (for instance), the characteristic post-hardcore sound of the band shines through the volume and only the vocals (which struggle to compete with the abundance of guitars on stage) suffer noticeably, with only the loudest screams being remotely audible. Performances are impressive, especially when the sets are bass-heavy. Temporary loss of hearing is a likelihood after a codename gig. Depending on the size of the audience, codename will often mingle with fans after the gig, which typically lasts in the region of 45-60 minutes. It should be noted that the guys are thoroughly nice chaps and extremely approachable, which considering their hectic touring schedule is refreshing.

History and Press

Yourcodenameis:milo were spotted early on in their career by a British music press hungry for a radical new hardcore influence to counter-act the recent rash of pop-rock bands (for example, Busted and McFly) also hitting the scene at the time. As a result, they were jumped on by the press and hailed as the saviours of the UK punk scene. Comparisons to bands such as A soon followed and codename were praised for their 'edgy' style and 'weird' lyrics. Touring heavily and amassing a great deal of publicity almost from day one, the band have released two albums to date. While the hype obtained from arguably disproportionate media coverage (notably from the Kerrang! and NME magazines) has helped a great deal in popularising the band, offerings to date remain refreshing, original and true to the post-hardcore genre, a trend which will hopefully continue with the band's next release.
